WHY does Poole council go out of its way to upset local businesses instead of helping them?

They pay substantial business rate taxes into the council coffers and provide essential services for residents.

They propose to introduce double yellow lines outside local businesses in Whitecliff and remove current free parking places.

This will place huge pressure on the Courts store and Post Office opposite which has private parking places for its customers. These parking places will now almost certainly be used by customers of the businesses opposite and thus lessen the availability of parking places for the Post Office users.

Why does the council wish to threaten the existence of the local Post Office which provides such an important community facility?

No reason has been given for the proposed yellow lines and there is no history of accidents in the area to my knowledge.

Come on Poole Council, reconsider this proposal.
