ALTHOUGH I would like to commend the consideration to other road users by cyclists in our area, sadly I can't because so many refuse to ride according to the highway code, ignoring red lights, going down one way streets, no lights and dark clothing, etc.

So I'm really struggling with the decision by the council to actively encourage them to turn into Curzon Road and ride down it the wrong way.

They have narrowed the junction into Holdenhurst Road by placing a bollard on the road, leaving room for a new cycle lane going down into the road, with an arrow pointing the wrong way down the road.

If cyclists follow this lane won't they be breaking the law, never mind being likely to collide with a car ? What on earth prompted this crazy decision?
