NOW that planning permission is being sought for the A338 link road leading to the proposed business development on Wessex Fields, at the rear of Royal Bournemouth Hospital, residents need to be aware of the chaos this will bring to the Cooper Dean roundabout area when at least 1,000 extra cars would initially be funnelled to that already congested point.
The toxic discharges from additional vehicles, noise and light pollution once the final scheme is in place will make life a misery for people in Holdenhurst Village and Townsend.
However, the obliteration of green belt land, farmland, and damage to its wildlife are a loss to all who live in and visit Bournemouth.
All this when there are massive areas of development at Aviation Business Park, Hurn, just up the road, and I understand that the council can supply no information as to any developer who is interested in the Wessex Fields site at this time.
