FURTHER to your correspondent in the Monday edition, I quite agree it is a nightmare trying to find somewhere to park when going to a show in Bournemouth.

In days long gone by it used to be possible to park either by the Town Hall or by the War Memorial free of charge, but then the council had this "wonderful" idea PARKING METERS", which then puts the price of the evening entertainment up,as the shows now start at either 7.00 or 7.30pm so you have no choice but to use a parking meter.

If I ever go to a show in Bournemouth, which is very seldom due to the extortionate price for some of the tickets, I park in one of the side roads near the top of Richmond Hill and walk down.

It is for this very reason that I tend to go to shows either at the Tivoli Wimborne, the Barrington in Ferndown or occasionally the Regent in Christchurch, where there is either a free car park or non yellow lined roads, if you do not mind a short walk, ok, so you don't get the big named artists that the BIC or Pavillion attract, but at least you don't have to pay a hefty parking price which as I said adds to the cost of your entertainment.
