I NOTE with some bemusement the photograph of a petition (Echo 13/9) signed by some 3,500 people calling for the council to save Poole Pottery from closure being handed to a beaming portfolio holder Cllr Iyengar. I am not sure at all what he has to be so happy about.
Does he truly believe he bears no responsibility for this closure of one of Poole’s iconic businesses given that he and his colleagues have closed public toilets in our town centre and beauty spots, continually raised parking charges and generally sent out the message nationally and internationally that visitors to Poole are not welcome?
