Letter to the Editor: Residents need to stop whining about bin collections
FORTNIGHTLY bin collections can easily work, but residents need to stop whining and put some effort in! I lived in Germany for 10 years where they also had fortnightly bin collections and with the German attitude of hard work, efficiency, recycling and keeping the environment pristine it worked perfectly.
Were there overflowing bins, rubbish on the streets or an increase in flytipping?
In Germany and in other Euro countries, of course not!
People just got on with it. People blaming the council for their overflowing bins in my eyes need to grow up, smarten up and put in more effort and have more pride in where they live.
