I HAVE read with increasing anger and incredulity the plans for King's Park.

The latest proposal to redevelop the current athletics stadium and replace it elsewhere in King's Park would ruin the park and result in another huge loss of public land and green space.

The area required by the new AFCB stadium and all its associated concourses, access routes and parking will certainly be much greater than the size of the current athletics stadium site and in addition to re-siting the athletics stadium, the adjacent very popular skate park would also need to be moved and replaced.

The accessible green space within King's Park has been steadily eroded over the years and the park already has numerous tarmaced areas and large buildings within it. Do we really want to lose even more of the park so as to create a huge football stadium overlooking Bournemouth East Cemetery ?

Why not build the new AFCB stadium somewhere with much better transport links and avoid destroying further the nature and environment of King's Park ? Parks are for the use and enjoyment of the public, not playgrounds for multi-millionaires.
