SPECULATION that AFC Bournemouth could build a new state-of-the-art stadium in Kings Park (Echo, July 4) is the best news since sliced bread.
As a lifetime supporter through thick and thin, this is what we have dreamed of.
I realise some people will object and we have to allay their fears and look to the future to build a 25,000-seater ground, re-site the athletics track and turn the park into a centre of excellence for both indoor and outdoor bowls, children’s play parks, cricket pitches and both amateur and professional football.
Maybe also there might be room for dear old Ron Whittaker’s ice rink.
The park is under-used and with the chairman, owner, council and all the staff from Eddie to the programme sellers, we can succeed to provide a world-class premier place to relax and enjoy all the facilities provided.
