WE have had a beach hut at Fisherman’s Walk for over 20 years and like so many other people enjoyed a fabulous weekend on the beach.
Our spirits were dampened however when we realised that the lifts stopped at 5.30pm.
We joined the other hot, tired families trudging up the zig zag. Heaven only knows how wheelchair users cope.
What would it take for Bournemouth council to employ the lift operators for a few more hours?
The revenue would surely cover costs and would enable more people to enjoy what many consider the best part of the day.
The council need to get the basics right, shabby toilets (the ladies at Gordon’s zig zag has long needed a deep clean) and ‘early closing’ are not good enough for our beautiful town.
