BAD outcomes make poor teachers. No one pedestrian or cyclist starts their outing with the intention of things going wrong.

Shared spaces are just that – shared – and everyone needs to respect the rules and have their wits about them.

Perhaps the council could consider a coloured road marking to alert everyone where cyclists can go and pedestrians need to be aware they are not the only users of the space.

Think for a moment the much more common dangers associated with main road use by both cyclists and pedestrians.
