DRIVING in the Bournemouth/Poole/Christchurch conurbation is becoming more and more stressful due to the inconsiderate drivers that we have in it.

How many times a day do we see drivers who don't signal their intentions on roundabouts or who tear out of junctions and slip roads and expect everyone to slow down for them; or those who can't even bring themselves to say thank you when someone has gone out of their way to let them through?

The contraventions are endless. There are those who must overtake everyone because they need to be in front of everyone else, those who pull out in front of you and then tootle along, drivers and cyclists who cut corners at junctions, people who park on pavements or the wrong side of the road at night.

As Bournemouth was recently announced as the eighth most congested city (and we're not even a city as such!) is it not time that drivers and other road users here show more courtesy towards each other?

The road surfaces in parts of this area are not only atrocious but also very dangerous, which means you have to weave around the potholes or bumps. Many white and yellow lines are so worn out they are all but invisible. What happened to all the money that the government gave councils to sort out these problems?

What has happened to our lovely town? Does the council really care? I dread to think what visitors think of our roads and its drivers. Even friends from London dread driving down here.

Come on people, have a bit more respect for your fellow road users and councils please take a pride in our town and sort out our roads.
