AFTER having seen “La La Land”, I came away with the opinion that while, like the curate’s egg, it was good in parts, it certainly doesn’t live up to all the Hollywood hype.
There were some entertaining and enjoyable highlights but, for the most part, I found it something of a drag.
But of course, it will undoubtedly be the crowning glory of Oscar night – not so much by virtue of any artistic merit – but because it has provided the opportunity for showbiz luvvies to indulge in another of their not infrequent self-congratulatory love-fests.
