SO the council fears the High Street is ‘dead on its knees.’ Well, there’s a surprise!
Overcharging for car parking, closing public toilets, boarded up shops (the list goes on...and on...and on) probably has something to do with it!
It is about time the powers that be started to listen to the people who live in Poole and take their views seriously.
I have a suggestion - and for the purposes of this let’s assume that the Baiter toilets are finally closed.
I would like to challenge Cllr Haines (and any others) to come for a walk with my wife and I along Baiter from the Thistle Hotel to Whitecliff and back, (which we currently do regularly) just to see if she can do this without needing to avail herself of the public conveniences.
Oh, and bring any children/grandchildren of your acquaintance, Mrs Haines. Let’s also see how they get on.
No diversions into the park and no popping into any wooded areas!
Perhaps, when confronted with an inconvenient truth, views may change.
Sadly, based on previous experience, it is more likely they will not, but one can try!
Over to you, Cllr Haines.
