I WONDER if those who work at Poole Civic Centre would find it acceptable if the council decided it would close all the toilets in the building to save the cost of “maintaining” them?
The toilets at Baiter Park featured in your article are significantly used by people whose working day is spent away from a workplace equipped with toilets – taxi drivers, delivery drivers and a large number of the council’s own employees among them.
What does the council expect these workers to do? For most of them a ‘community toilet’ scheme is useless as such toilets are not provided where you can park outside.
I hope the appropriate staff union for Poole council manual workers might consider making a fuss about this ridiculous decision.
