GIVEN people need homes, l am shocked by the amount of empty housing in Boscombe.
In the middle of properties in The Crescent, flats have been empty behind a hoarding for many years. Why? This building is seriously deteriorating and surely at a cost to the adjoining properties. The Empty Housing office says “it’s complicated”.
Secondly, and long overdue, how much longer do we have to put up the eyesore that is the old hotel adjoining Boscombe Gardens?
Lastly, there is empty accommodation above the Sovereign Centre. This could make good homes.
I would love the Echo to start an Empty Housing campaign, which could improve our environment and provide much-needed housing.
