I’D like to say a heartfelt thank you to all those community members who made the evening for less-mobile seniors of Christchurch not only possible, but so successful.

Firstly, Christchurch Round Table, Waitrose and Elizabethan Lodge for their donations which paid for the fish and chips and the bar bill!

Also, all those who gave smaller amounts, which bought wrapping paper, bags, serviettes, mince pies etc.

All the drivers from social services, Dial-a-bus, Age Concern, Round Table and friends plus all the helpers who waited on table and generally assisted tirelessly and enthusiastically throughout the evening.

The Worshipful Mayor of Christchurch - Cllr Trish Jamieson and her consort Danny plus the Rev Richard Partridge from the Priory; The Lighthouse Youth Club who with their music kept the atmosphere just right, Christine for the keep-fit session and of course Santa and Mrs Santa and everyone who contributed hundreds of gifts through Kelly’s Kitchen, The Priory and Royal British Legion.

We had a record number this year - 87, which included three centenarians!!

Thank you all so much. Can we do it again this year, please?
