I AM writing to you again as now there has been destructive, mindless vandalism for the past three nights at our allotments at Alder Farm, Poole.
Twenty-two sheds on the site, our toilets and our office have all had their windows smashed.
All doors have been prised, ripped and pulled off their hinges enabling them to access the tools and wantonly strew them about the plots.
The water butts and compost bins have been pushed over with vegetables pulled up and scattered.
Cabbages have been savagely kicked like footballs across the plots and all of this has caused untold damage, upset and devastation to all of our members, especially the elderly, who will suffer the most.
A lot of time, effort, pleasure and expense goes into maintaining these plots and now some members have had enough and are leaving them despite having paid fees for a full year, at what must be one of the the most expensive allotments in the country.
For them they just can’t go on any more.
