DO we need three palaces in London (Kensington, Buckingham, and St James’s), not to mention a second holiday home (Sandringham)?
All these could be sold to offset the cost of repairs to Buckingham Palace.
Kensington and St James’s could be incorporated into Buckingham Palace.
With austerity and all the cutbacks, there should be no exceptions - as the last prime minister told us, ‘We are all in this together’.
Some churches have had to be sold to bring others up to scratch.
I’m sure the Queen is just as concerned at the cost of repairs to her palace, but this can only be the fault of bad management for letting it get in such a bad state.
