LONG after I retired and stopped working, I was fortunate enough to move into sheltered housing. Prior to this, I had resided in numerous privately rented dwellings throughout Bournemouth, Boscombe, Parkstone and Poole.
Each had their own most memorable and even horrific stories.
So for me, moving into sheltered housing was to be my last move and though designed mainly for old folk with wardens, life-lines, lifts, community areas including a well-tendered garden by some residents – all is not so sweet and peaceful as one might imagine.
Council workers with drills. leafblowers. Noisy window cleaners. Fire alarm tests.
Oh for a bit of peace and quiet!
