I FEEL that I should respond to the headline letter from Ms Hilderley (Daily Echo, November 23) about leaves on the pavements near Pine Tree Glen in Westbourne.
The council team at Street Services work flat out at this time of the year clearing leaves across Bournemouth, especially after the impact of frequent and often severe autumn weather.
In the case of Pine Tree Glen, earlier this week the team visited and removed substantial amounts of leaf fall in response to the letter which Ms Hilderley sent to me at the same time as contacting the Daily Echo.
Together with my two ward councillor colleagues, I can assure local residents that Bournemouth council will continue to keep a close watch to ensure that standards are maintained and will undertake periodic inspections to clear further leaves as they build up in the Pine Tree Glen area and elsewhere in Westbourne.
