YOUR readers may not be aware of forthcoming local events that are taking place.
I visited Kingston Lacy recently and found that there were light technicians preparing the gardens for evening light ups on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from the December 2-18, open until 7pm.
The lights are positioned to light up the trees etc, through various coloured filters which give an amazing array of colours of the trees and garden.
Also Corfe Castle village light ups are from December 10, 2016 until January 1, 2017.
The village square has a Christmas tree and a nativity near the monument, and there’s also village lights of Santa Claus, angels, a Santa Claus sleigh complete with reindeer on the front of the National Trust gift shop roof, complete with the date of the year 2016.
This year Corfe Castle will be open until 7pm on the above dates and floodlit all the way through the keep, archways, stairways etc, which gives a very mystic atmosphere (to which the public have access).
I do recommend these two events.
