Costs to repair Poole's lifting bridge could be better spent elsewhere
I PERSONALLY believe that the cost repairing Poole’s ailing lifting bridge could be better spent on re-routing the heavy Juggernaut Port traffic away from the Town.
As the “modifications” are going ahead, perhaps a few extra thousands could be allocated to filtering the dredged harbour channel base and have Archaeologists examine it for historic items.
There have been crossings at this point for centuries and interesting pieces from bygone Poole may well be discovered, even maybe Roman or earlier.
