THE focus of attention in the TV drama Victoria is moving away from Lord ‘M’ to Prince Albert, who married Victoria in 1840 and who tragically died at the age of 42.

Prince Albert’s main legacy, apart from the nine children born to the Queen in their 21 years of marriage, was the Great Exhibition of 1851 held to display to the world the achievements of this country which had created the industrial revolution.

Sadly, I wonder how Prince Albert would see this country today heavily dependent on China and France for nuclear technology and construction.

Even more sadly it gets worse.

Whilst we are so dependent on China and France, we are one of the world’s biggest manufacturer of armaments, much of which goes to Saudi Arabia, a country heavily involved in a brutal war in the Yemen.
