I WRITE in response to the letter suggesting that being fined £80 for dropping a cigarette butt is ‘crazy’.
It most certainly is not crazy. The only thing wrong with this is that the fine isn’t even higher.
I am sick of people dropping cigarette ends – and any sort of litter –wherever they feel like it.
Who do they think picks this up and why should someone else have to clear up their mess?
Their selfish, lazy and arrogant behaviour infuriates me and I’d like to see fines of £500.
That might actually persuade these idiots to take their rubbish home so that the rest of us can enjoy a much tidier town.
