COULD you scrap the acronym OAPS.

It is dated and automatically delivers all pensioners into the old-age bracket which they are not. Let’s get it right. People who draw a pension can vary in age from 55 approximately to 100 and 55 is definitely not old.

So it would be nice if you could more accurately describe them in future – perhaps as ‘retireds’ or ‘retirees’.

For instance, we don’t say ‘young-age schoolchildren’.

So, if schoolchildren fits the bill, why not retirees?
