WITH reference to the downgrading of Poole Hospital’s A&E, the following may be of interest.
Before retiring and moving to Dorset, I worked nearly 40 years for the NHS.
My last 26 years was spent at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
It was decided Southmead Hospital, also in Bristol, was to be the main hospital for the western area, a hospital very difficult to get to and with very little parking.
Part of this involved shutting the A&E department at Frenchay Hospital.
After a while, it was decided Frenchay was no longer viable so it was shut down. The land is now for sale. Could this happen to Poole Hospital?
Before all this took place, Frenchay was told it was safe.
