REFERRING to the new Sandbanks scheme revealed in the Daily Echo, April 27.
Sandbanks is ‘dangerous’ – really?
Thanks to Mr Mitchell for warning of the perils of the current Pavilion area at Sandbanks – no wonder a lot of people will be scared about his plan.
Over many years living in Sandbanks and close by I never realised that currently this area was “uncared for, unloved and dangerous”.
I am indeed fortunate that over 60 years of perilous visits to this dangerous location that I am still alive. I had no idea how unkempt and dangerous it was until now despite being a weekly visitor.
It’s a miracle how all those visitors during the summer come away uninjured.
Perhaps it would be a good idea for the council to re-visit its risk assessments for this area?
And there’s me thinking there might be more of a peril from falling off a multi-decked car park or breaking an ankle on a sandy, non-slip ice rink in mid-winter.
So after all these improvements the only question remaining is how does another set of flats on currently public land contribute to its safety and adoration with locals and visitors alike?
