ONCE again those who wish to leave the EU use ignorance and fear as the main planks of their argument.

Corporation Tax rates are set by the British Government not the EU. Business Rates are not even uniform throughout the UK. Taxes on carbon emissions are set by our government also.

Government subsidies for major industries are now illegal under all trading agreements inside and outside the EU. China’s economy is still largely government controlled and has the economic muscle to force its trading partners to tolerate the current situation.

Once again the spectre of immigration is raised. The inhabitants of the Jungle outside Calais want to come to Britain but cannot because they are not EU citizens. They cannot because of the control that we (with French help) do have over our own borders.

Those who wish to reduce immigration from the EU assume that it is an evil. It is always taken as read that it is a ‘bad thing’.

So come on Vicki Sharp, come on Alice Cooper, what harm to British society have you observed?

What kind of world do you want to live in?
