OUTSIDE the little Tesco at Pokesdown there was a young man sitting against the bus shelter: apparently homeless but not begging.
I decided to get him a cup of coffee and something to eat.
While I was waiting for the coffee, two young schoolgirls came up to the machine.
I heard one say: “What shall we get him, hot chocolate?”
They, too, had decided to help this young man and already had a sandwich for him.
All purchases from their pocket money, no doubt.
Bravo to these young women for being sensitive enough to be aware of his situation and kind enough to do something about it.
