I HAVE just returned home after being admitted to Royal Bournemouth Hospital. I have also spent time in Poole Hospital.
After my discharge today at 11.30am I finally got my medicines from the pharmacy at 4.45pm – a wait of some five hours.
Waits of this order are also common at Poole. This is traumatic for elderly patients, it is unacceptable and a disgrace.
Surely if hospital doctors prescribed similarly to GPs one could collect the medicines from any pharmacy and so remove the hospital bottleneck?
