MR WILLIAMS’ letter (Echo, February 2) does prompt me to respond.
Jeff states that “not in eight months have I seen sight of one councillor,” yet it’s not three months since I met him on Ashley Road and had quite a conversation with him.
At that time he was most complimentary about the improvements that have been made in the area, and I guess I must be growing more forgettable with age!
Most ward councillors do respond to and take up issues for their residents.
If Mr Williams’ councillors fail to do likewise I would be happy to take issue with them on his behalf, and Mr Williams should know what to do at the next elections.
For the record, I personally always respond to e-mails particularly directed to me, and I am certain most of my colleagues do likewise.
However, if my name is just one of several or many dozen copied in, then I naturally assume the subject is just for information and generally does not require or warrant an answer.
A blunderbuss may scatter its shot – it doesn’t always hit the target!
CLLR ANN STRIBLEY
Parkstone Ward Councillor, Mayor of Poole & Admiral of the Port
