RE: YOUR article on January 20, and the proposed double yellow lines on Sandbanks Road.
I note that the views of some residents (by no means all) pay absolutely no attention to the safety issues involved.
Sandbanks Road is a very busy thoroughfare being the main access to Poole beaches, a significant bus and emergency services route, and now carrying very heavy traffic to supply the local stores and various construction companies, not to mention being used for coach parking in the summer.
By removing parking obstructions, double yellow lines on the short stretch of road between Turks Lane and Whitecliff Road will ease congestion and traffic flow considerably.
The two questions of charging for parking at the Whitecliff car park and the double yellow lines on Sandbanks Road are totally separate issues, and linking them just causes confusion.
A decision on the yellow lines should be driven by safety issues and not the parochial views of a small housing estate.
