I FULLY support Cllr Phillip Eades’ comments (Echo Nov 19th), and applaud him for continually putting the people of Poole first. I moved here some years back and instantly fell in love with Poole.
I find it disheartening that anyone can suggest these ‘outsiders’, would have the residents of Poole’s best interests at heart.
As a Poole resident, I would not want my taxes being spent on sorting out the housing crisis in Bournemouth. I would rather they were spent on the education crisis at Key Stage 2 in Poole.
It was also suggested to me that we would become ‘Greater Bournemouth’, a title I’m sure will not support tourism in Poole.
Whilst the super council of Birmingham is crumbling, do we really want to even be considering this merger?
Let’s hope there are more councillors like Philip Eades, willing to stick up for the people of Poole and good old common sense.
