WHETHER we like it or not, the roadworks on the A338 are going to be with us until May 2016.
So can the local councils, major local employers and IT people get together quickly to design a real time website for all us poor drivers to check on to via our home or work computers, smart phones etc to get up to the minute accurate stats and help spread the load and reduce tailbacks.
This will need camera sensors as used on all motorways and once installed they can be retained for years.
Some years ago, a company called Trafficmaster installed all the sensors on major motorways and trunk routes but I do not know if they still do this.
Finally, I am intrigued to read that there is a major site on the Southbound side being used for collection/recycling of the surfacing materials.
Once the project is complete can’t this site be used for a “comfort break” area for tourists coming into Bournemouth, together with a mini tourism office, manned in the summer months but purely a telephone/leaflet area off peak, to advertise local attractions.
