WITH regards to G Smith’s letter on Tuesday, August 25, castigating Mr Williams’ letter on Saturday August 22, drawing comparison between jets over Bournemouth and wind farms out at sea, I don’t think the comparison could be more stark and entirely relevant.
Bournemouth is saying that ground shattering noise is justified and acceptable however deeply alarming or distressing, but only when it suits the interest of Bournemouth tourism industry.
However a wind farm that is 13 miles out at sea, at which distance it will impossible to hear even a whisper in any wind conditions, as shown by all the other wind farms that are situated around UK coasts, is condemned as being a “risk of noise disturbance”.
