HAVING spent the weekend in Poole, I’m sad to report that our break was ruined by your neighbourhood’s obsession with dogs.
On the beach at Sandbanks with my children’s young family we were descended on by over-active dogs on at least three occasions.
On commenting to the owners, we were told that this was a dogs’ beach.
These people fail to understand that it is a beach where dogs are allowed, it does not belong to them.
On Sunday we spent the morning in Poole Park.
Same problem – there are dogs everywhere.
When asked to control their dogs we were soon told by three separate people that this was a dog park.
We politely told them that no, it is a park where dogs are allowed.
One lady dog walker even said that she wouldn’t have a picnic like we were, as that’s where all the dogs urinate.
These dogs, or rather their owners, are a public nuisance and need to be firmly put in their place.
