BOURNEMOUTH Hospital has had a lot of bad press recently and I would like to redress the balance.
Last week my adult son was bitten on the foot by an adder while out walking.
He was rushed to Bournemouth A&E, where he spent two very painful days – the first wired up to various machines, being constantly monitored and administered painkillers and antibiotics.
The second day he was moved to the AMU, where they continued to monitor him.
When they were satisfied that he was stable he was allowed to leave, provided he could manage on crutches.
This was difficult at first, but eventually he was discharged, some 48 hours after being admitted.
It will be a long haul, but he is going to be alright thanks to the prompt and skilful treatment he received.
Also, four years ago I had surgery from Mr Fozard and spent a week in hospital. During that time I received excellent care from very professional staff and made a complete recovery.
I have nothing but thanks and admiration for Mr Fozard and all the hard-working staff in Bournemouth Hospital.
