HAULIERS and holiday makers are fuming at the well-publicised disastrous situation surrounding the Channel Tunnel.
I sincerely hope that stringent precautions are in place at our local ports to thwart those would-be immigrants that have thought through the situation.
Whilst totally sympathising with asylum seekers, many of whom are fleeing atrocities to get a better life in the UK, the vetting and tracking process is woefully inadequate at present.
Dover and Calais are not the only ports available, the more geographically “savvy” will have realised and I fear the longer journey time will not stop these obviously very determined travellers.
