I WOULD like to assure your correspondent Mark Harris that he doesn’t have to live in hope – if he contacts councillors in Bournemouth, he will definitely get a helpful reply.
The trick is not to copy the same email to all 54 councillors, but to write only to his own ward councillors, whose contact details are listed in the BH Life magazine and on the council’s website. Or he can write directly to the cabinet member who has responsibility for the particular matter.
This is a more personal form of contact and most people’s problems can be sorted quickly by email, phone call or by meeting together. Many councillors hold a regular surgery, and this is another way that residents can be helped.
Round Robin emails are very anonymous but it is easy to get in touch with us and we are always happy to help with any council-related matters.
COUNCILLOR ANNE FILER
Cabinet Member, Bournemouth council
