FURTHER to the article in Tuesday’s Echo, June 23, with regards the approval of the development of 650 new homes on the green belt farmland to the east and west of the Cranborne Road, Burts Hill.
How could this be approved when the considerable number of people that attended the meetings, held in Colehill at the community hall, voted by at least 90 per cent that this was not acceptable?
What are the seven councillors doing by not turning up or leaving a proxy vote as their local residents made it very clear as to what their opinion was?
It could have made a different outcome. I thought our local councillors are there to carry out our wishes and requirements.
A total of 650 houses at an average of three people per household is a staggering figure of 1,950 more people – and at least 650 more cars.
The infrastructure is struggling now. What is going to happen when this occurs to the roads, schools, doctors, hospitals, employment, etc.?
It will be total chaos. This is disgraceful.
