WHILST not being particularly keen on the game of football other than to keep our children fit, I am thrilled at the success of Eddie Howe and the Cherries.
I do not agree that this warrants the re-naming of Bournemouth's Airport in recognition of Mr Howe and his team's achievements.
However great they may be now and hopefully in the future, it is unlikely to be as internationally remarkable as John Lennon after which of Liverpool fame Airport is named.
If Bournemouth Airport is to bear a name surely it should be "Sir Peter Bath", whose early pioneering of commercial aviation at Hurn has made it the successful expanding international hub it is today.
