TO the residents of Redhill & Northbourne, may I ask why you voted for a party and not for a person in the local elections?

Our area has now lost an excellent, long-serving councillor who lives in and worked tirelessly for our ward.

She has represented us for more than a decade, many of those years as an independent, meaning she hasn’t had to toe a party line.

Sue Levell has been a hard-working, visible presence in our ward, willing to take up any cause close to our hearts, be it planning, parking or planting daffodils.

She has actively represented us with her unfailing support for our parks, schools, roads and small, but vital public library.

She has been replaced by three members of the same party, two of whom don’t even live in the ward.

She will be an immense loss and very sorely missed.
