I HAVE cause to suspect that the company operating the coin counting machines installed in the large supermarkets are trading to a poor standard.
The machines do not appear to display any mention of a “commission” charge and the adjacent leaflets mention “a small charge”.
If customers pour their loose change in for counting as intended, how do they know what the “percentage” is?
I emailed Poole council’s Trading Standards who replied, suggesting I should contact the Citizens Advice Bureau with whom they are in “partnership with”.
Odd as it’s answers and action I require, not “advice” and surely “partnerships” work both ways. Obviously not in Poole.
