YET again we are given, in no uncertain terms, an explanation of the lack of understanding of the problems faced by the people of Boscombe by the recently re-elected Conservative Councillor, Chris Wakefield. (Echo May 21).
Rather than discuss the causes of the anti social behaviour, he is rather naively trying to suggest that the fault lies with the siting of the four telephone boxes, not with perpetrators.
Surely he must understand that removing the offending phone booths will mean only that the offenders will move on to somewhere else.
This is typical of an administration that would far rather paper over the cracks in Boscombe than actually do anything to resolve the deep-rooted and growing issues of drug and alcohol rehab.
For once BT have got it right.
