MUCH has been said for and against the privatisation of The Royal Mail, but personally I have seen a vast improvement.

Yes, prices have risen, but in my opinion they were well below rates charged by the competition and needed to be brought into line.

Mail delivery services in my area at least, have now almost returned to the early mornings they once were a decade ago.

The bicycles have been pensioned off and my cheerful lady postie can be seen darting about in a small red van, sometimes three times a day.

I am pleased that new “dog control” laws have made it possible for mail delivery operatives to wear shorts twelve months of the year proving that “global warming” has influenced their fashion too.

Well done Royal Mail, keep it up. Her Royal Highness must be proud of you.
