I ATTENDED Baiter Park on Sunday last to watch the Rainbow Run as a spectator, together with my old friend Henry, an eight year old Border Terrier.

The event was brilliant. Hundreds turned up to run and raise funds for the great charity, Naomi House and Jack’s Place.

The whole event was very well organised, and so well supported by hundreds of runners who were happy and willing to run and get covered in powdered paint to raise lots of money for sick children.

When Henry and I arrived home he had a green snout and green legs, it looked rather fetching. My recently purchased deck shoes were also green.

Henry raised some objections, but a quick bath soon sorted him out. A scrub of my shoes soon returned them to the original blue.

I suggest the people who objected to this great event should be ashamed. All charities are having to compete for funds and this was a superb effort.

So I hope this will be an annual event for our sick children. The dye is harmless.
