OVER the past few years it has been my great pleasure and privilege to have got to know former councillors Beryl Baxter and Dennis Gritt.
We have been involved together in helping raise funds and trips for local schools, youth clubs, old people’s groups and other local charities in Kinson and West Howe.
Regardless of political views, both have worked tirelessly for the local community and put their heart and soul in representing their wards.
Knowing these two people, I am sure they will still remain active in supporting worthy causes in the area and on behalf of the numerous groups they have helped over the years I should like to say a big, big thank you to both of them.
To the councillors who are replacing them I wish the very best and I am sure they realise they have big shoes to fill.
