I AGREE completely with two previous writers who stated that it is unbelievable that shops do not supply enough seats, not just for the disabled, but also for the elderly.

Nearing 90 and hoping for a knee replacement, I am one of those always looking for a sit-down while shopping. Even in Boots in Poole, where you would imagine they would consider the old and infirm, they have taken the one seat away near the photo booth.

I now sit on the seat in the booth while my better half finds what we require. A couple once looked as if they were going to use it so I had to move, but they only read the instructions.

Even in Asda, sitting with another elderly person, another lady came looking for a seat so I got up and sat on an invalid buggy as she looked in a worse state than myself.

I have read that Poole council is about to resurface Ashley Road for the motorist, costing millions.

What do they do for the elderly and the disabled pedestrians of Poole? Nothing!

The level crossing and bridge, as well as the uneven block paving, are a menace to manoeuvre. We should be able to withhold part of our rates until they do something for us.
