YET again one of Poole’s bridges has broken down.

While I understand breakdowns occur from time to time, I am amazed that there is not some sort of compensation available for those who wish to use Poole’s harbour facilities.

Poole harbour is one of the most expensive localities for having a boat in paying for mooring/marina fees, harbour dues, etc.

Some would argue that having a boat is a luxury.

However, there are many people who have worked hard all their lives and saved money to buy a boat and now wish to enjoy their hobby.

Perhaps it is time the council, or whoever is responsible for the maintenance of the bridges, accept that the inability to gain access to Holes Bay, or get out from Holes Bay into the harbour, should lead to some form of compensation.

Last time, even the RNLI were restricted in their efforts to carry out training for their crews.
