SINCE when has St Aldhelm’s Road become a free-for-all for the continuous stream of transporter lorries dropping off to Eden in Poole Road?

It would appear normal rules do not apply to car transporters. Not only do they park on yellow lines, they block driveways, double park, ignore the 'left turn only' sign on Poole Road and make it extremely difficult for both pedestrians and drivers to see.

This little bit of road is busy enough with Lidl customers and the local church, but the transporters are creating an extremely dangerous environment and sadly, it appears no one will do anything until someone is hurt or killed.

Last week, there was a transporter off-loading on both sides of the road and another one waiting in Lyndsay Road.

They block both entrances to the local vicarage and the church and I cannot imagine what happens when there’s a funeral. Where is the funeral cortege supposed to stop?

Eden have a very large forecourt which could easily accommodate these large vehicles delivering, but prefer to put the local residents at risk rather than move a few cars to make room for them on their own property.

Would you buy a car from a company that has so little regard for the safety of those living around them?
